Through the rooms of her house. We silently enter the room of tender lovers, we can hear breathing of a naked body ” for centuries ” chained to the bed. In the next room, fragments of vigilance and dream evoke a moment of transition from life to death. Another room is painted with whispers of pain and loneliness . In the next room, a naked pale body is disappearing slowly from the image…

Exhibited Artist

Miriama Kardošová is student of VSUP Prague, studio of Intermedia Art leading by doc. Ak. Mal. Jirí David. Mostly she works with classic media. Her narrative images become fragments of story. In stories she uses the contrast between man and woman to make real unreal worlds, where both human beings live beside each other. Gestures and situations may evoke multiple meanings. In her work she tries to bring an atmosphere which points towards something disturbing in the stories. The scenes are full of gnawing silence, which predict that something has to happen.
In Her House is her first Berlin exhibition.

Performing artists

Lisa Stertz is a German artist currently based in Berlin. In her work she aims to draw attention to the human body itself as well as the body in resonance with other bodies, materials and cultures. She seeks to put different ways of perception on display to point to an unbiased openness and to alter predetermination. Her work is thus nurtured by solo performances and collaborative works equally. Recently Stertz focuses on the notion of freedom, stating that one is only free in the frame that one creates for oneself. Performances of hers have been shown at Studio44, Berlin (2014), SomoS art gallery, Berlin (2014), Defibrillator Gallery, Chicago (2014), DOCK11, Berlin (2014), Links Hall, Chicago (2013), 6018 North, Chicago (2013), Soulkitchenhalle, Hamburg (2013), grüntaler9, Berlin (2011-2013), Wittgenstein House, Vienna (2011).

there is space of an anxiety and a desire. No one is in but it is full of scary emotions and sexual passion. He never knew how to loose his control and he never tried to overcome his power. They met and became one bunch of strength. They help each other. One never learned how to love and the other how to exist. They are the same, there is no difference. There is a relationship. A very dangerous one. He has a power over his life. But he doesn’t depend on him, he belongs to him absolutely and unconditionally. He has to call his name and obey, he supposed to destroy himself and find the love in the end. Video installation and life performance, 30 min.

performance artist, born in Hungary, based in Berlin for 7 years. Her art is self explanatory and experimental. In the center there is the human body , used and exposed as a tool for self exploration, discovery, and deep transformation. This transformation is only possible if you dare to enter the darkness which lies underneath the visible reality. Those unknown and therefore threatening corners of the mind are the source of her pieces on the verge of performance, theatre and bizarre freak-show. “I did not know back then what I know now” I want to see my own limits and open up the horizon where fear disappears and I can quietly enter the nothing, the nothing of the mind and the nothing of physicality. There is always a moment in which is possible to open up my own head and body, turn them inside out, invite a public to witness and share a resting point of my long journey, but when I say “enough”, you better leave quickly. This time I searched out flesh hooks as something which literally go under the skin, and give me a possibility to hit a point in my own psyche, which is normally out of reach. I don`t mind the darkness and I am not afraid of being afraid. To say yes to the sudden urge and desire for even pain if there is curiosity enough to see what is beyond. “The Door Opens”
As the door opens and desire could walk inside to fulfill lonely mess of a heart, words can be spoken out. What was hidden behind is uncovered. Through a language of body animated under the sound of a piano tones we tell a story of one room, same like billions – where we live, explore, hope, seek, love and die. On the piano, Riava performs compositions created through last years since she started to play.
